Our story

About Warisan Heritage Museum

Since 1978, we have safeguarded the region’s material culture and made it accessible to scholars, families and future generations.

How it started

From a Private Collection to a National Resource

Warisan Heritage Museum was founded in 1978 around a private collection of court textiles and ceramics assembled over three generations. What began as a single donated hall has grown into twelve wings spanning antiquities, ceremonial arts, manuscripts and textiles.

Today the museum works with regional universities, archives and surviving master craftspeople to conserve, research and interpret each object — ensuring the stories behind them are not lost to time.
